Have just got my HQ 95" build completed. Now I'm looking for some feedback on Bub 7 slipons now that ample time has passed for a number of you out there to give me their thoughts on Bub 7s.
I went with V&H True Duals with O2 bungs (for HQ Pro Tuner) on my '05 RKC. Will the Bubs fit the V&H TDs?
I find the Rinehart units (w/ black caps) a bit too loud for my liking , but don't see the point in doing a motor build and stifling it with restrictive mufflers.
IMHO, the Bub7 Rineharts whenused with the stock headers produce the best torque numbers and are a bit quieter than the true duals. idid the 1,000 mile oil change and checkup on my bike at the dealership today and when they brought her outof the service area and then out to the parking lot... I almost had a tearthey sounded so good. there was another 2 bikes that went out those doors that did not sound as good. very deep (low hz) rumble yet not too loud until youroll on strong then very clean sounding.Again, much quieter than the true duals(I could hear the difference today) and I have the 103... the others were 96" and 88"that went through.
I had Super Trapp slip ons for a year. They seemed like a good idea because of a similar appearance to stock, yet you can vary loudness by adding or subtracting discs. I'm one of those guys that feels loud pipes will be legislated into extinction someday, and wanted the ability toalter the bike's soundwhen thetickets started flying around.
I erroneously assumedthat all after market mufflersshould have similar tone. I've never paid much attention to other ridersexhaust configurations. Unfortunately, Super Trapp mufflers didn't have the same very low rumble that Rineharts did when we rode with friends. Great to tinker with, but not the sound I was looking for. My wife, wanna be biker bi*ch that she will never attain, said they were too quiet, even with a lot of discs.
Rinehart slip ons arriveda couple of weeks ago. Didn't even take a half hour, and I'm no mechanic. Great looking. Excellent low rumble, yet pretty loud, "Harley" sound. Docile at idle, um, "expressive" during strong acceleration.
Is there an easy method of measuring frequency so that there can be a scientificexpression of Harley "rumble"?
I have the bub's... absolutely no comparison.... I would not change a thing... I get at ton of looks when i get on it.. As a matter of a fact I hit the autobahn monday and cruising at 85 I could still hear the radio... when gettin' hard everyone stops and looks and my wife knows I am cominf home from 3 blocks[sm=badbadbad.gif]
Are you saying the 7s are LOUDER than the Rineharts? I'm not sure I want people to hear me from two blocks away unless I'm getting on it.
How are they around town. Do heads turn 'cause they're TOO loud?
Well I have had expeirence with a few exhaust systems and am now on the BUB 7 True Duals.
All I can say is that I finally found the exhaust I will be keeping.
I have had V&H slip-ons which were a little to tinny sounding to me, had thunderheader slip-ons which I totally loved the sound of but they were a little too loud when leaving for work at 4:30 in the morning. I put the klockWerks double back system with rineharts which sounded good to me but got tired of the heat from the system and also got tired of seeing every other bike with the same mufflers, plus a few other setups but now I put the 7 true duals on.
I can honestly say that this is the best looking exhaust I have had yet and the sound is awsome.
When youhammer the throttleit is deep and mean sounding and when you want to just cruise it has a nice mellow tune. I think this is my final exhaust.
Also if you are just going with slip-ons than you need to buy the BUB 7 slip-on mufflers and they will fit just fine. You cannot put the mufflers on from a duals setup since the pipes are bigger.

Thanks for the input Linck.
I am putting whatever slipon I decide to go with onto a set of V&H True Duals (w/o crossover)
I do know that my current slipons fit the V&H TDs, and they also fit the stock HD headpipes. Are you suggesting the Bub 7 slipons might not fit?
CigarCritic; Really? The 7s are advertised as being slightly less loud that the Rineharts TDs with the black caps.
