A lot of good options out there. For me, since I liked the sound/performance I had with my stock headpipes and V&H Basic slip-ons, I chose to simply go with theV&H dresser duals. I like the outcome as I have dually sound now, clean fit and finish and no noticable seat of the pants low-end loss.
The following is copied from a reply I just made about BUB 7 in another post. Sorry its so long, just got carried away I guess.
Well I have had expeirence with a few exhaust systems and am now on the BUB 7 True Duals.
All I can say is that I finally found the exhaust I will be keeping.
I have had V&H slip-ons which were a little to tinny sounding to me, had thunderheader slip-ons which I totally loved the sound of but they were a little too loud when leaving for work at 4:30 in the morning. I put the klockWerks double back system with rineharts which sounded good to me but got tired of the heat from the system and also got tired of seeing every other bike with the same mufflers, plus a few other setups but now I put the 7 true duals on.
I can honestly say that this is the best looking exhaust I have had yet and the sound is awsome.
When youhammer the throttleit is deep and mean sounding and when you want to just cruise it has a nice mellow tune. I think this is my final exhaust.
Also if you are just going with slip-ons than you need to buy the BUB 7 slip-on mufflers and they will fit just fine. You cannot put the mufflers on from a duals setup since the pipes are bigger.
I have the Vance and Hines True Dual Head pipes with SE slip ons and like them a lot. Had Rineharts on my last bike and went through 3 pair with warranty issues
BUB 7's TD w/o cross over. Scares small childern and animals when you get on it. Check the exhaust sound section. I have a video of them up there of them.
They are a lot louder and deeper than the video suggests. They look great as well.
