Default Edge Trim - Lower Fairing

Before I install highway pegs, I wanted to protect the outer edges of the lower fairing from boot marks and nicks.

I purchased a 2-pak of Universal Door Edge Protector (this stuff is StyleGuard by Cowles Products) from O'Reilly's Auto Parts...cost about $3.00 and comes in either black or chrome. It's self adhesive and installed in about 2 minutes.

Seems like it should do the trick...

That does look great, but be aware. The glue inside that trim will become pliable (melt) when the temps get warmer. I'd used it on my vehicles for what it was designed for (door edge protection) and usually ended up with a sticky mess by the end of the first summer. It's not too hard to clean off using Simple Green, it's just phugly until you get it cleaned up.

Even so, it looks good enough that I may try some on mine. The black trim on color matched pewter denim lowers would look cool.

Phurion makes a good point - let us know if you have any problem with the adhesive seeping out, or any other problem.

I'll be interested to know if it stays on, and if it falls off, does it mar the paint?

Thanks again.
