Hey guys, my 08 SG is my first bagger. I was a little skeptical about hearing the radio while riding especially with louder pipes and at highway speeds. Needless to say I am quite surprised. I can hear itvery well. The problem I am having is with the CD player. Homemade CD's tend to skip alot while riding and I have to stop to let it stop skipping. Store bought CD's are better but still tend to skip. It is still chilly here (low 30's) but I dont know if that has anything to do with it. All other functions work great and radio plays clear as hell. It has the new firmware installed (8.19). Any suggestions or is that just how they are. Thanks.
I have an 06 Classic and have noticed that if I have a CD in the radio and it is a little cold outside my CD player too tends to skip. I have noticed it more though if the CD and the air temp are different...I think the CD tends to get a little condensation on it and makes it harder for the laser to read the disk. My bike gets parked in a shed for storage as I haven't had a garage built yet...and have noticed that if I bring the bike out I get condensation on the bike after having been in the shed...the CD player will skip...to be honest I've never pulled the CD out and looked to see if there is condensation on the disk...but that would be my guess.
