I a using the FP on a 2007 Road King with V&H ovals and SE Air Cleaner. The FP was lessexpensive, 15 minute install, engine runs much cooler and smoother, and no dyno tuning required. I'm thinking about the 103 inch kit with SE255 cams. V&H has published the FP settings for that combination which some are calling a torque monster!
For my money I went with the PCIII from www.fuelmotousa.com they mapped it for my setup and the sucker runs great, if I want to change any thing later I can go to them, get a new map, upload it to the module and I'm good to go...
Any one useing V&H fuelpak? Pros and cons
Thanks Bandit
V&H FuelPak is a GREAT - USER FRIENDLY - PRICED RIGHT Fuel management system "IF" you do not plan on any additional Mods past the Stage1. It is very limited but works Very Well...
Pro's - Priced Right and easy 20min install
Con's - Limited on additional Engine Mods
I had one for about 6 months/5000 miles. My impressions:
Pros: relatively cheap, easy install & setup, lots of maps, works as advertised & richer mix cools engine.
Cons: Caused (rare) occasional stumble during cool/cold weather when taking off from a stop, no adjustment for timing.
I liked it but removed it to run Nightrider IED's, which do basically the same thing for 1/3 the cost.
Seems to make the scooter run cooler. I had a problem with mine and called V & H. They suggested disconnecting it and run the ECM only to determine if it was the Fuelpak. Problem went away. Called V & H again and they had me send it to them for testing. They called me and said it tested bad and sent me a new one 2 day delivery. Put it back on yesterday and all is good! Their tech support is good in my book and the customer service is nothing short of great.
Only advice I will offer is to use dielectric grease on the connections. After my initial install and first bags and seat off wash job it got some water in the connections and ran funky till I dried it out. For the record...I did not pressure wash the Fuelpak.
Go get 'cha one and a high flow air filter. Seemed to wake up the sleeping giant, and give it a few more ponies...My fuel mileage dropped a fraction though but duh...More fuel to the fireequals less MGP's.
I installed the V&H dual head pipes, Rush slip-ons 1 3/4" baffles, Ness big sucker, and Fuel Pak on my 2008 Street Glide. It sounds much better, has more throttle response, runs cooler, and pulls much better in 6th gear. Best money I have ever spent on the thing.
