How were you planning on powering them without an amp? Just wondering.

Hey FLHT, Are you running those without covers? How about a different angle pic a little further back? Looks kinda cool!

Yeah, No covers and I pulled the spacer that sits the speaker further back in the fairing. I will try to take a better pic tonight.

the HD head unitl on the newer bikes has a 2 ohm impedence I'm guessing those speakers are 4 ohm, they wont work properly with that setup, many of the older HD's have a 4 ohm head unit. either way an amp is the y way to go.

Nope, the Kappas, or at least the ones I have, are 2 ohms.
Thanks FLHT, I'll check back for the pics.

FLHT, I'm just starting a fairing build for my Road King. What size, 5.0" or 5.25" are the speakers?

What did you mention about spacers?

Thanks
Dan

They are the 52.7i they are 5.25 inch and they are 2ohm. There is a spacer around 1.5 to 2 inches thick that actually is in front of the speaker and it kind of sits the speaker further back into the fairing I just moved the spacer to the back of the speaker so I could use the same bolts that hold them in.
