ECM code determined...now what?
Thanks to the DIY post by DonF on testing ECM codes, even I, an 'MMI' ( Mildly Mechanically Inclined) wrencher was able to figure out how to check the codes. Now what do I do?
Have an '05 UC and has been running rough for a while now. I ran her yesterday thinking maybe some bad gas. Filled tank with fresh gas, same result. Checked code just now and came up with 'P1356' which is rear cylider no combustion EFI.
Is this a DIY fix or better left to trained pro's? I assume trained pro's. And if so, what should I be on the lookout for from dealer trying to sell extra's to fix this problem?
Thanks for all the help. I can not begin to say how much I like this forum and all the help it offers.

I had a similar issue and was told to begin my search with the ignition system. Plug wire was suspected. Turns out the tip had backed out of the spark plug, where the plug wire presses on. Tightened it up and all was well thereafter.
first and easiest.
pull both spark plugs, put them back in different holes.
rear one in the front , the front now in the rear.
Start and run the bike and see if problem moves to front.
If so it's a bad plug , get two new ones.
If it doesn't move it is either the plug wire or possibly a faulty
injector or worse, mechanical damage to the rear cylinder,
in which case do a compression reading.
But normally it is the plug or the wire.
also make sure the wire is securely connected to the coil and
the spark plug.

(before engine light is off)
The fuelpump needs a few seconds to pressurize.
Also check the sparkplugs and swap them (front and aft)
and see what happens.

Are these factory wires? There are cases of wires with improper impedance throwing codes. If these are "cut yourself to length" with a crimpon connector, again there can be issues. Check the wires.
