Default Sunglo paint source

Folks,

Looking to paint the inner fairing to match the outer, and would like to shoot it myself. What's a good source for Crimson Red Sunglo for a 08 SG?

Thanks in advance,
Resto

Probably cost you a pretty penny. I just ordered the HD touch up kit in that color and it cost $20 just for it.

ORIGINAL: CREEPSHOW

Harley sells it..
I know - at $25 for a .5 oz touchup or aerosol can. I'm afraid to see what they want for a pint or quart of the stuff.

I know they use PPG, hoping to find a match without the HD logo.

I just bought a quart of Sinister Blue Pearl from HD and it was $45 retail. Can't beat that deal (but I got it for 20% off, so I did beat it!).

You can always check with color rite.. Won't be any cheaper.

Have a paint shop scan your bike and mix the paint!

Dawg gave me these numbers for my bike and these are list prices. I'm pretty sure the #'s are for Crimson but they might not be so please double check, my bike is two tone. You can usually get 20% off at one of the online dealers:

#99825-02 Activator $44.30
#98609ZQ Base coat $126.00
#98609CTY Top coat $85.30
#98609EK Clear coat $80.30

These are for a quart, which is, I think the least you can buy.

Hope this helps,

J

Like Creepshow said take it to a paint supplier and scan a part of your scoot and they should be able
to match it.

I just checked the price on a quart of real read for a set of hard bags I got to put on my RK custom, 130.00 dollars. I'm sure the clear coat cant cost near as much.

Harley uses PPG paint OEM. My local PPG paint supplier will sell as little as 1/2 pint of paint, but the clear is the killer as he only sells it in quarts. DO NOT GO CHEAP ON THE CLEARCOAT by using some offbrand clear!!!!! As far as i'm concerned, that is what makes the paint job. The primer/ basecoat/ clearcoat materials for my tourpac cost just under $200 in Fire Red Pearl in PPG's best grade paint.
