New to 07 Ultra classic it will not start unless it is in neutral

even if you pull clutch in all the way it will not start put it in neutral and starts right up

The clutch safety switch may be broken. It's in the clutch side housing and looks much like the brake light switch in the right housing. Have you taken the housing apart to change grips or anything?

my 08 will start in gear as long as the clutch lever is pulled. I would also guess that the switch on your clutch to over ride the neutral start safety isn't working.

Same, starts in any gear. All the same, just can't bring myself to hit the button unless the clutch is in, even with a big green "N" showing. Don't ask why...

Switch is defective or misadjusted, should start in any gear, as long as the clutch lever is pulled in.
