Default cam advice

I am planning on changing the cams on my 2007 96" road glide. I have rhinehart true duals, SE air cleaner, and Race tuner. Everything else is stock. What would be a good choice? I have been told that the SE 255 would be good. I was wondering if the HQ 575 would be too big? I could always use that cam if / when I decide to go with a 103.

Only other one I might throw in there would be the R&R525...........but there just isn't a lot of info or people using it.

Give Kevin at HQ a call regarding the 575 and 500 HQ cams. He may tell you that with the 575 running stock heads you will be over-cammed. Also, with the 575 lift cams it may be prudent/necessary to use a stiffer valve spring. Also, IIRC a dealer did a direct comparison between the SE 255 and HQ 500 cams and the HQ delivered a broader torque curve and more hp.

Throw in thwe Andrews 37H. You can run em stock or at 103" with a mild compression upgrade. Real nice torque from around 2100 up.

I am leaning toward the HQ 500. The only reason I was thinking about the HQ 575 was so I would not have to buy another cam when I go 103. I really don't want to over cam.

The 500 will work in a 103 also. Not optimum like the 575 but it will be fine

I have a very similar setup as yours.

I went with the HQ 500 cams.

That a look at this thread.
