I had the HD Dealer replace theRocker cover gasket which was leaking oil and everything seemed fine when I picked it up yesterday afternoon. But when I started the bike the nextmorning my oil gauage went straight past 60psi. I let it idle for several minutes until the engine warmed up, then it went back to normal @ idle 8-12psi. Spoke with the HD dealer and said this is normal with Harley's as long as the psi lowerswhen the oil warms up and not toworry.

Now I'm not an expert and I know that cold oil will increase psi but it's always been around 35-40 psi at start up since I had the bike.

Is something wrong here or am I just paranoid.Replies would be greatly appreciated.

 

rare but possible the oil pressure spring and valve stuck shut, but then opened.
