Agree with AtkRWC, it's a great way to find anything that might be loose or missing, and you'll really get to know your bike better. There have been so many bugs around here lately, I couldn't see spending all that money for a detail then getting the bike all messed up as soon as I take a ride. Seems I'm always wiping it down after a ride. JMO

I clean mine, only because I dont trust anybody else to do it. You never know who clean their sponges are or what they are using. Plus, if new scratches show up you might shoot through the roof. Try getting some tunes going and few adult beverages near by and take a couple of hours and enjoy the music and being alone. Its great!!!

I could never let anyone clean my bike. One, they would not do it to my satisfaction. C, they would not do it to my satisfaction. And 4, bike changes, you should pay attention, not pay for a wash.

I do a good all day detail job about twice a year, but spend a half hour or so after each ride cleaning bugs and such. Its a good way to spend a rainy weekend in the garage and still be able to spend quality time with the "mistress" as my wife calls my Ultra (if I spend too much time with the bike the wife calls it my bit*h). Nothing like the smell of wax and leather conditioner and the taste of a few cold beers.

Now that's a different story. I would pay for that, if I could take pictures of the whole job

I worked at a hd dealership in the detail dept. I can only remember one or two bikes a year that came through that were brought in by someone wanting them detailed. All the others were bikes we had done mechanical work on or were going on the showroom floor. I thought about that as a business too, but I think 99.9% of us do it ourselves.

I clean the bike myself.

2 of the guys I ride with have theirs (Ultra and Road King) professionally doneonce or twicea year at around $150 a pop.

Looks great, bike show quality, when they pick them up. After a couple rides the bikes look "normal".

I thought about it once and even got a quote for $80.00. Then I realized I could wash my bike for free and spend that extra money on some kind of upgrade. If I hadlots ofextra cashlaying around, I'd get my bike detailed once or twice a year just for a break.

Wow.... tough crowd!

I rarely bother washing mine. 100 years from now, no one will know the difference.
