I just bought some stuff from one of our Forum Sponsors and would like to give my thoughts on their products. SpecificallyI bought a set of perforated Womens riding glovesfor Wifey and she loves them!
For me I bought a set of their Deluxe Riding Chaps. This is not a thread about whether it's gay or not to wear them. It's a personal choice. I wear them in the cold and going to work over my Scrubs.
The chaps I got were very well made. The web site says they are lined. They had a cotton mesh liner, which I can attest workes to keep you cooler in the heat. It was 85 here today. I was surprised that they also hadsnap/zip insulated liners! They size them by wiast and thigh measuements. If you carry a lot of stuff in your pockets be sure it's there when you measure youe thigh! I just decided to unload my pockets into a bag and keep it in the bike. I'm always forgetting stuf as it is.
I called them to share my thoughts. They admitted they need to update the website and make it clear that the chaps have these liners. My only disappiontment was the lacing for the back of the belt section. It was a really chinzy peice of vinyl welting style material. The lady at customer service4 was really nice and offered to send me a piece of rawhide to replace it and said that they would look into what the New Jersey warehouse was sending.
All of the stuff they sell that states "hand made" is made by them in Oregon according to her. Sther stuff they buy from vendors and they try to keep a close eye on them.
Overall I'd give Chilowee a 10 for products and customer service! If it aign't right, they will do all they can to make it so!
Got the lowers for my Lindby Bar custom made by them. They took great pains to make sure they got it right the first time, including emailing me the instructions on how to trace out the bars cuz this was the first Lindby/Low Rider set they made. Fit like a glove. Great quality leather & workmanship. Great to work with.
I've bought from Chillowee a couple of times and I giveem 2 thumbs up. Besides that ole Chillowee has a bagger and hangs out onhere therefore he gets another thumbs upfor that too.
I just purchased a jacket and chaps from them and had a good experience. I also had very good customer service. I will definetly order from them again.
Whenever I am looking to buy anything, I check out Chilhowee first.
I bought a leather jacket from Chill and it arrived before I got the notice it had been shipped. Great quality! LastSaturday I ordered a rainsuit and some deerskin gloves. They both arrived this week. Two days after I ordered the stuff, a friend forwarded me an email he got that everything was 10% off. Damn! Timing really is everything (and $8.50 is $8.50). Story of my life.
Got my saddlebags and EZ brackets thru them. Had some questions before ordering and got a very prompt response to my questions. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
