I have a solo seat because I like the look. I also believe riding a motorcycle is inherantly dangerous. With a solo I dont have many folks asking to ride. If I go down and get hurt or die that sucks but would really suck to live and your passenger die. Just my reason but of course to each his own.
'07 RK and stock seat sucked. Mothers rack and Mustang solo most of the time (great looking combo) and swap rack for pillion and detachable sissy bar whenthe missusisalong - a true "convertible". After all, it's a RK
J/K - checkout the Mothers rack for yours and see whatcha think.
Harleys were not meant to take two people
jus joking,I like the look of a solo seat on the Streetbob, going to get my spare stock seat done LePera style, (no bones) [sm=goodidea.gif]
I have my Ultra set up with the detachable tour pack so when mama isn't riding (which is most of the time) I slap my Corbin Classic Solo with rider backrest (feels good) on and the bike takes on a whole new look. If mama wants to ride I have the option of putting the stock seat back on (long rides) or my Corbin Touring Pillion (shorter rides) and the tour pack and all is well. The bike is much lighter without the tour pack and handles better.
A little tip for those thinking of going this route I also slip a piece of cut up t-shirt under the stock seat where it contacts the rear fender so that it doesn't rub or scar the rear fender and keeps it looking good for when I put the solo seat back on.
Looks--enjoy seeing the fender, like the older bikes.
Comfort???--Any seat on the bike has to be comfortable or it wouldn't be there.
Covenience--Without the rear seat, it's very easy to have a good excuse for not giving rides--the pillion is always availabe for deserving women, of course.

If I know I'll be toting a passenger of the female persuasion I'll put the pillion on (along with the King Tour-Pak). Otherwise the pillion stays in the saddlebag, ready to be pulled out/mounted at a moments notice in case of the random drive-by hottie pickup.

A scooter was designed from day one to be a Male Escape Device......And it serves perfectly as such if allowed to remain so.
Go dig up pics of the first bikes....they were all solo.....
Then came Sufferage and puzzy whipped men and two up seats.....And afterwards came sitdown toilets and the never ending battle over the toilet seat.....Ya know?
Both my bikes now have solo seats......I don't trust myself......I had to protect myself from again waking up married to yet another trashy woman I jerked off a dance pole and attempted to domesticate......You guys can't image how many women I've seen run screaming from my house at the sound of a vac cleaner or dishwashing machine......
Yes Sir, I run solo and have two bikes......I figure the next biker trash female I wake up next to will have to be able to at least ride a scooter all by herself and i won't have to listen to her or deal with her.....My spare bike is my buddy and bitch bike......If she looks good and dances good, then if she can ride, she gets to audition at the house, but she will have to get here on her own.
