Decided to have the dealer install power commander. Now they say there is a problem with some 08s that the power commander will not work. It runs 15 secs or so and dies. now the warrenty department at PCsaid send it back and we'll fix. What BS! I'msure they'll get right on it to (LOL)!
I have3 questions
Anyone else have this problem?
Any other solutions?
It ran nice when i rode it to the dealer without the PC on it. will I screw thing up if i ride it for short time without the PC, untill the new one arrives.
Thanks John
i have a pc111 on a 08 s/g and have not had any problems w/ it. it sounds like you upset at fuelmoto, nothingis perfect. i am sure they will fix it. if you added pipes and changed the aircleaner you may have a problem w/ the air mix and it definetly wont run.you can plug the 02 sensors back in and install the stock air cleaner till you get the pc back. i hpe you get it right, but you did good going to the pc111 and staying away from the stage 1 . imo
.....1st off you shouldn't "hurt" your bike that I know of by disconnecting the PC since it piggy-backs off the stock ECM and it just reverts to factory settings,(it might run lean while you do this, and it is not recommended to run it for weeks/months in stock mode if the bike has been heavily modified and needs a lot more fuel than stock to run correct), but a few miles here and there is ok. And I wouldn't be so quick to bad-mouth the PC folks, they have a good rep for customer service, and I had to call them once and they were pretty helpful.....expect the stealer to tell you that if you buy the Tuner from HD everything will be wonderful, your breath will be better, and chicks will dig you..
Take it easy. If it takes too long, then gripe. Since you are using a PC, then I guess you have done some other changes. If so, wait until the PC is installed again. Running your bike even leaner than the MOCO set it up will cause damage.

RE: warning if your installing power commander
John, Mine did the same thing on my 08 SG, try this,.. hook the PC back up to your computer and resend the map, it will over write your old map. THEN ride it to get it up to operating temp then hook back up to your computer and SET the "THROTTLE POSITION"----this is a very important step...This simple fix cured mine. Look at it like this,...Have you ever loaded any program to your home computer and something just didnt work right? dump the program then reload and it is fixed? Same here, the PC's are just computers...it just didnt load something, try it It may save you some time, removing and reinstalling another PC.These are good units.
