Default Plug wire change

Bought a new set of plug wires and read the shop manual in regards to replacing them. I am having trouble getting to the coil to disconnect the old wires, let alone install the new ones. The shop manual does not mention removing the gas tank, but I'm thinking that may be necessary. Does any of you have a tip on performing this task?[:@]

Loosen the tank and lift it up without removing it and you should be able to get to it.
