help... i am crying
so its 60 here now. WOW - finally...
I drop the bike off the lift and take off the charger and the battery is DEAD! So i run down to the bike shop and buy $110 battery.
Put in place and turn the switch and all the lights come on and looks good. hit the start button and everything goes dim and CLICK. nothing.....
The gauges and odometer go blank but the N light stays on . but just CLICK and DIM and no start..
Thoughts?
I tried rolling it in gear in case something was locked up , nothing!
starter? starter contacts?
WTF????
I am the only guy NOT riding today !!!!!! its killing me. i am sitting in the garage ready to cry!
helpppppp

Most new batteries don't come with a full charge? That sounds crazy. I would take it back and have em test it. My ride is in the shop getting painted. So tired of hearing the bikes roll by!!!
Did you try to jump start the bike either with cables or in second gear rolling with ignition on? Was new battery fully charged ? Also, try a light tap on the starter,minorsticking/rust/corr. may cause sticking or open circuit. Good Luck.
A fool proof way to check if you have a bad battery connection (which sometimes will still look clean and ok ), is after you try to start the bike and lights go dim, feel the battery connections. If one or both feel warm to the touch you have a high ressistance connection. Get a steel brush and scrape up the cable connections. If your connections are good and your batter is fully charged, than lightly tap on the starter with a small hammer while at the same time you push the start button. Sometimes over long periods of non-use electric motor brushes will get a glaze on the them hindering the connection to the stator.
