Default road side breakdown question

i know ive seen somewhere about all the hand signals to alert others riders to cops, road debris ect................but is there a sign, motion or some kinda etiquette that will tell ya when someone is broke down on the side of the road or just puttin thier rain gear on per say????????

still smiling over an encounter yesterday. goin down a toll road and see a bike on the side-couple appeared to be lookin thru the grass. pulled car over (was on the way to HD to swap my warranty seat out)-nope all was ok. spoke for a minute shook hands and drove off.got to the last toll booth and see em behind me in line. knowing how hardit can be ta dig for monie in a rain suit i paid for us both, waved and hit the gas. we split off i looked backta see two arms in the air. good vibes.

The helmet "upstream" is the accepted.... but many people don't kow it, and still some don't wear helmets..... never hurts to pull over and ask.... back in the old days whatever a rider was on.... it was likely there would be repairs going on.... now a days... either lost, or out of gas.... or maybe taking a break. But I'll stll pull over to check... even when I'm riding

This past saturday night, my neighbors and us were out for ice cream. as we made a right at a light I spoted a bike off the shoulder. We turned around, and went we arrived I didn't see the lights.. but i did spot the bike, on it's right side, in the mud.
We pulled over, hit the 4-ways.... talked to the kid.... I smelled the alcohol thru his full face.... We pushed his bike across the street to a closed gas station. Under the light the shifter was bent and pushed against the case, and his front brake lever was snaped off.... kid musta been down on BOTH sides that night....I told him we'd wait until someone came and got him, but I think the fool probably went ahead and tried to ride it home as soon as we left....

Like the Honda ads say... "STUPID HURTS"
