Default Dead center fairing

I've been thinking of purchasing the dead center fairing for my 2006 Road King when I'm in Sturgis this year. I like the quick removal of the fairing, but was wondering if there are any issues with vibration or rattling as opposed to a solid mount fairing.

Would appreciate driving experiences from anyone that has the fairing.

Thanks

Ross

I can't compare to a oem mounted fairing becasue I have never riden a bike with one, but I have not had any vibration issues with my dead center fairing. I think my cd has only skipped once ever and I thought my bike broke in half the pothole hit was so loud.

I've logged right about 27K miles on the bike since I've installed the DCC fairing and the fairing rarely comes off. I have had no problems at all. Once it's snapped into place it is very stable with no vibration except for a minimal bit of movement at idle. One thing I should mention though is that when I first bought the fairing and installed my aftermarket stereo (which I bought separately), I did have issues with playing MP3 cd's that I created (skipping over bumps). Since then I have upgraded the stereo to one that controls an iPOD which I now have mounted on the bike.

I have modified two other DCC fairings (gauges, stereos, painting, etc.) since I purchased mine and could tell they have made some changes; things like thicker fiberglass, smoother edges, better quality gelcoat.

I say go for it.

I'm waiting for mine to come via UPS man, I ordered it last week. Theyusually do$200.00 off at the shows/rallies, there is a dealer that will do 20% off retail price. On a standard stereo unit @ $1,699.00 they will save you $339.00!Thats who I ordered mine through, if you are interested PM me.

I can not say enough about Dead Center Cycle Fairings. They are great. You get what you pay for that is for sure. No buffetting, great wind protection in all kinds of weather. Quieter road noise and wind noise with minor exception of hearing engine noise some what better.

Can take on or off in SECONDS. The best customer service in the industry with DCC. No B.S....

And it LOCKS on to your bike.

As all the above have mentioned, I HIGHLY recommend it, and if your into having everything done when you get it, have it painted and totally optioned out for your bike.

You can call Willem and send payment so hopefully you can receive at the show and have them install any wiring for your bike.It willthen be basiclly Plug and Play...Good luck with your choice.

I have a good friend here in Houston that just purchased an 08 Ultra and has a Dead Center Fairing for sale. He bought it just last summer for his 03 Road King.Had the Harley Leather Bra on it most of the time. i think he said it was 1600 but he would sell for 1000.00 plus shipping.

If you are interested let me know and I can put you in touch with him.

You can PM me at wmdb2@sbcglobal.net

I know this is an older thread, but if someone can get me info on who to contact for a great deal on a Dead Center fairing for my RKC, I'd really appreciate it.

And for those of you using onr of these, what size windshield would you recommend for the RKC? I know the Dead Center website says 9" for the same height, overall, as the stock windshield.

Thanks!

I have the Dead Center fairing and I love it. Great Co. with exceptional service and support. I got mine off of a member here that just didn't like the batwing look on his road king. But I picked up the name of Rice Harley in Rice, WI that would give 20% of on any item, HD or aftermarket, if you were the first one to call them (Parts) that day. Someone here had done it and picked up a Dead Center fairing for 20% off. Worth a try. Just google Rice Harley Davidson, and call. I think you were supposed to ask for Steve, but I'm not sure on that. I'd ask for the Parts Manager. Good Luck
