I have a Walmart Cover which is fine for the the garage but I find if there is even a little breeze the cover moves enough to rub the paint and windshield.
I need somethingfor when I park at work that I can put on easily while hot that keeps the sun off the fairing/seat/speakers. I want to keep it cool but I also want to avoid the inevitable fading from the Califormia sun.
I also need it to be pretty tightly held down because where I workis more oftenbreezy then not.
Has anyone tried the Qwik Shades? It looks good and tight.
The Walmart cover is very much like the Nelson Rigg Firetender posted. The wind gets under the cover and billows it making it rub. Even soft surfaces will scratch with persistant movement especially when any dust gets in.
I have a Qwik-Shade, and it's pretty nice. It's not a tailored fit, as you might expect....it's a big rectangular piece of spandex-type material with loops in the corners and at regular spacing in between. Comes with a handful of plastic-covered hooks, and you decide where to secure it. Takes a little playing around to decide the best hooking points, but goes on and off pretty quick after that. When not in use, it fits into a fairly compact bag that will easily fit into a tour pack or saddle bag.
I got mine as a gift. In all honesty, though, after having seen and used it, I doubt I'd pay the purchase price for it.
I have the HD storm cover for my ultra. It is part number 98742-96. It works great but it is pricey. It is everything you are looking for, if you want to spend the money.
I have the qwik shade and like it very much .It's small and compact for carrying on the bike also there aremany different one's to choose from. Lot's of different patterns and colors
I just got one, and thought about it for a long time. I like it because it fits snug to the bike. Any other cover will move around on the bike in the wind.
+1 ON THE QWIK SHADE, I LOVE MINE.AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES PUTTING IT ON AND GETTING MY FASTENING POINTS FIGURED OUT I CAN NOW HAVE IT OUT OF THE BAG AND ON THE BIKE IN LESS THAN A MINUTE.
