Does anyone have any suggestions when it comes toremoving the tourpak? I have an ultra classic and I want to take it off but I was wondering about all of the wires for the speakers and the lights.
i HAD THE SAME THOUGHTS WITH MINE,,, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT,,mam would want it on all the time,
So I left it on,, and I bet you if I were to take it off now,, I would MISS it!!
It's so freeekin handy
You can add the Harley detachable rack and docking points with a wiring harness. It will cost a few hundred $ but to me it's worth it. Losing the pack not only changes the look but also improves the ride, lower center of gravity. One issue to think about is a safe place to store it when it's off the bike.
I have an ultra as well and I have wanted to do this for a while and I did it this past week end. As far as the wiring goes, I got 2 -6 pin, 1 -3, and 1-8 pin connectorsfrom Ladd Industries on line and they lent me the crimping tool for 30 days which was really nice, this made the install very clean. I removed the CB and Antenna wires and tucked them in the left side side cover and installed the hidden antenna under the fairing. This all took some time but came out very nice. I can remove and re install the tour pack in less than 2 min. hardest part is taking the seat off. Plug or unplug 4 connectors and done! One of the guys on here gave me all the part numbers for the connectors which really help me out. If you need any infor PM me and I will help you out as much as I can.
Good Luck.
