Well since I need to replace my saddlebags, extensions, and exhaust after my wreck I started to entertain the full back extension on the left and going 2 into 1
Obviously the FatCat is pretty popular around here but there's a lot of options that aren't too far apart in price so I thought I'd get a few responses here before looking a little further. So what should I get?
I just bought a bike with a Sampson Caliber 2-1 exhaust (Chrome pipes with black shields but you can also get with chrome heat shields). I love the way they sound... I think they are a little deeper than the Thunderheaders (which I previously owned) and performance wise, they seem really good.
They are very reasonable (I think they are $550 for the pipes, heat shields, two baffles, and end cap). You could probably get them at 20% off depending on what dealer you work through.
I will try to see if my camera has a microphone on it and I can try to record how they sound.... I will let you know.
GREAT to see you on the forum! How the F Are you? Are you still in the hospital?
I agree with Dawg that a black fatcat would really look sweet on your scoot. I've had great luck with them since they were released in 2002. I have also tried many others (ProPipe, T-Header, White Bros E-Series, Boarzilla) and find myself going back to the fatcat every time.
Best wishes for a speedy & complee recovery! There are a bunch of folks here that were sending well wishes your way.... Hope you see you fully recovered soon!
Ironhead
After trying two sets of slipons I went with the V&H 2 into 1 pro pipe. 500.00 shipping included from Eastern. The improvement in low end torque is very noticeable. I've read that some of the other brands are more tuneable. Installation was pretty easy.
been better, still recovering at home. No lifting over 10 pounds so I can't really do much [:'(] and I'm dizzy and have a nasty headache. I'm getting bored so I'm dreaming about what I'm gonna do with the bike
Glad to hear your home! Hope you and your ride recovers soon.
The thunderheader is my favorite. Great sound, performance, and killer looks. The Fatcat is growing on me tho... I am stil trying to save up the cash for a thunderheader slip on to compliment my homemade 2-1 pipe
