My Summer gloves are driving gloves from the 1920s (Unlined black leather gauntlets) like the ones that were used by Teamsters and Chauffers in open cab trucks and touring cars.
Winter gloves are my 1940 Swiss army issue Gauntlets (worn with liner). I don't know why the Swiss Army ever made anything but I am glad they had black leather gloves.
If the Swiss gloves are wet from the day before, I opt for my 1950s fleece lined black leather Gauntlets.
I don't really like any gloves that I've seen made within the last 35 years. I like the old style cuffs that were made with thick leather that didnt flop around in the wind and protected you from rocks bees and other stuff flying around in your sleeves. The cuffs on my Swiss gloves can still be polished up to look like black patent leather if I want.
I've been thinkin about making gloves like the old days and selling them but I think I am the only one I know that is into the old stuff anymore.
I just got a set of Lee Parks Deer Tours from Fox Creek...Wow....most comfortable gloves I've ever had on my hands, bar none. I'll be wearing these until it gets too cold and I need something lined.
I've had road rash on my palms a few times....I'll skip the thin or no glove route...
