Default HD Detachable Racks for Road King

I am considering buying the 2-Up Detachable Rack, and I am wondering what other members think of theirs. I will not be using it too often, but when I do I expect to be carrying a pretty good size load. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

I have the above detachable luggage rack for my 05 FLHRI Road King and love it. You can pack a lot of stuff on it. It removes nicely for washing. I also have the detachable back rest for the passenger.

I also have THIS ONE (same as Charlie) and have found it to be exceptional. It detaches easily and makes a great place to lash something if need be. Go for it. It is made to H-D's usual quality standards.

I've also been thinking of the 2 up rack for when I use the detach back rest.

If it's the Usual HD standards for quality,I hope it better quality than the
2up detachable tour pak rack and the contoured tour pak lid rack i bought from HD,the chrome was terrible I had to return the lid rack 5 times until I finally got one that was nice enough to bolt on,welds were poor, chromed over the welding splatter, chrome flaking off on the welds ,etc.... was not to impressed this time buying the HD chrome items, this stuff has to be coming from over sea's

Very sorry to hear that - I have yet to return anything I have bought from the dealer - I am very impressed with their (H_D) quality of fit and finish on all their products. Hope your luck changes.

I have the two up detachable rack, I like it alot, but am going to go a different route because I do not like the look of the docking hardware when I have my bike setup solo. I will sell the rack and docking hardware. $135 plus shipping takes it.
