Just now sitting out side on the porch a bike locks up the brakes hits the curb bike and he went flying. First day out new bike down a hill wet road right turn..About 55 years old,he is ok shaken up and a limp. He doesn't know if he has the nerve to ride it home. It.'s warm in pa.to day RIDE SAFE!
What a bummer for him. Wife prob gonna say I told your sorry *** that was gonna happin. Hope he can get right back on it and take the basic riders course.
That's why you take a rider's course. Of course, they can't make someone use common sense. I'm glad that I learned a lot about riding on a dirt bike. I did a lot of stupid stuff, ate my share of dirt, and bounced off a bunch of trees. In the end, I learned what to me are the most important lessons; to always ride within my own capabilities and, when in doubt, always err on the side of caution. I may not keep up with the Speedy Gonzalez's, but I get where I'm going in the end. The dude will never get his confidence back if he doesn't get back in the saddle. If some bruises and a limp is the worst he got, then he learned a lesson without to much of a payback.
It sounds to me like he shouldn't be on a bike, ever.
Have you ever given thought to the fact that motorcycles aren't for everyone? I have and I know people who should never think about riding a motorcycle. They lack the most basic skills of road knowledge and hand/eye coordination. At least in a car they only need to concentrate on keeping the car on the road, not the car falling over on its side.
THEY JUST PICKED UP THE BIKE AND LOADED IT ON AN OPEN TRAILER ,LAYED IT ON IT'S SIDE. SAD TO SEE ANY BIKE HALLED AWAY ON IT'S SIDE. AT LEAST IT WASN'T A HARLEY!
