New gear drive cams and geardrive installation partson the way. Anyone have a good lead on were one can rent the special tools needed for removal of the chain drives and installation of the gear drive setup. I don't want to buy tool's I'm only going to use once.
Only special tool needed is the inner cam bearing puller, and you can rent that for free from AutoZone.........it's called the Blind Spot Puller.
A press comes in handy also to press out the stock bearings in the cam plate, put the gears on the cams, put the bearings on the cams, and to put the bearings into the cam plate.
You really don't need any special tools to remove the old stuff. Unwind the tensioners with a large pair of pliers and hold them out with an appropriate sized hex key. You are getting rid of them anyway.
Installing is another matter. You need the tools. I hope you are able to find some. Sorry I can't help with that.
