As was said before, Keep it maintained and drive it. My old 87 had 96,000 on it when I traded it in on my '07. Virtually error free the whole 20 years. The down side to the bike is that you won't be able to retro-fit it with cruise (not a big thing) and the radio is not available anymore, when yours breaks. You can retro late 87 and later. Soooo, not too many downsides, huh? Enjoy the hell out of it. And THANK YOU for your service.
