I use synthetic. Many people here on the forum use Amsoil as do I. Another fine choice is Mobil 1 V twin if you can find it. I order my Amsoil online and have it in 2 days. 20W50.
I use HD formula + in the primary because I don't believe in using synthetic on the clutch.
I use Amsoil 75W90 in the trans.
I also use K&N filters because they are a superior filter and they have a nut on the end which makes changing a breeze.
Now get ready . . . you're going to hear a hundred different things about oil.
please do a search on this site. there is at least 500000 postings on this subject.
It happens on every motorcycle forum on the internet. This is the most commonly discussed topic on the web.
To answer the question, I know alot of guys swear by Amsoil or any type of synthetic. I still am a fan of dino oil. I still don't know how much of the synthetic is gimic and how much is truth. Its kind of like when the gas stations used to make you think that premium fuel would make your car run better/faster.

I use Mobile 75-90 gear lube in tranny and Mobile 1 V-twin 20-50 in engine. Great combo. You should go to the oil-related topics part of the forums and read through the posts there. You could spend all night reading all of the posts there.
