Well, I have finally finished my Winter Transformation. So, here are a few pictures of the transformation process, of turning my Sinister Blue RK, into the Black Beauty I’ve always wanted! The Before Shot:
Step 1: front-end, side covers & new bags & new seat!
Step 2: rear-end
Step 3: gas-tank
COMPLETE:
I know there are Alot of Black Bike’s, but to Me, BLACK is the best color!
Dave...
very nice! did you paint or have it done? What did it cost and how long? I'm thinking about paint too. Aslo, is your rack detachable and will it go on a bike with a lay down plate (2up)

Actually, I bought the Black Tins set, used online. Changed everything out myself. I did have the tank, pressure-tested before using it! So, it was Way cheaper doing it this way. Painting was going to run me over $1400 to strip, prime & paint. The set I boughtwas only$400 & now I'm selling my old Sinister Blue set. So hopefully, it will all be a wash!
Not sure if the rear rack will fit with a lay-down plate? Mine is not detachable!
Nice job; thanks for the pics--glad you got what you wanted.
A buddy of mine did the same thing--converted his '06 birch white police model RK to black by buying a set of black tins and side covers (on Ebay), and having his hard bags painted vivid black--like yourself, he's very, very happy.
