To get rid of the backfire/popping we're suppossed to bump up the 0 Trottle Position #'s up but, am I correct in assuming that there's no need to raise them until you get to 1250rpm?
I got a map from Dynajet, that only added fuel to the 0 setting above 2000 rpm (+30 from 0) and the 2 setting above 2500 rpm (+15 from 0) on an 07. It would still pop once as it went below 2000. Their customer service is pretty good. If you send them your map, they will generally modify it for free. My FM map on my 08 is unmodified, I kinda like the rumble from the glass packs.
the most i've seen recommended is 20...but i have 2 questions...why would you want to increase fuel below 1000rpms, sitting at idle?...that doesn't make sense to me...and how high should you take it the rpms?, 5000rpms?...seems not needed
what i've done is 0 up to 1000rpms, and doubled from 1250 what was in the map originally (807-027)...it's better then it was, still popping a little bit, but still ower than 2%TP...next i'll try matching the #s from the 2%TP into the 0%TP, except for 500,750,1000rpms which i'm keeping 0
I was poping fro 1950 down to 1400 so I added 5 from 1500-2500 @0%it made a slight differance. Then I added 16 in the 2000+2250 @ 2% which made it better. but not perfect. T&E Still working on it.
I am guessing the fuelmixture at idle are lean from the factory. When changing pipes/aircleaner, this leans the mixture out more so your idle mixture is even leaner causing backfire. That is why mixture needs to increase at idle, if that makes sence. When you do a carb kitfuel mixture needs to increase at idle as well..
