I'll pack up and head out for Laughlin on Wed. from Denver. Looking over my shoulder at the weather as the last snow here in CO was just last week.
I've been to other rallys, but not Laughlin. So, the 08 Copper Top Glide will get a fresh load of Amsoil and a check over, and away I'll go.
I figure 285 to 160 thru Durango, then 89 south to the I40. With luck Durango Wed. night.
I'll try for a room in Needles. They seem to be less of the crush scene, and a bit cheaper too.
Looking forward to seeing some great Ca customs, for sure.
Laughlin is a lot closer to Phoenix than Denver. That's where that Trask / Garrett turbo is waiting, hmmm.
Ride Safe..... Watch you rear in and around Laughlin as they always load up on every extra COP & State patrols.. Last year they even had the Indian Patrols out hot & heavy~
I hope you have reservations already made. If not, bring a tent. Rooms get booked up in Needles several months in advance because of the price hikes in Laughlin.
If you're just leaving now, yo may not find a room. Bring the tent and try Davis Camp, just north of the Laughlin bridge...they never turn anyone away and the folks there are all pretty good.
try to stay out of Needles, especially for the gas...get over the river to the AZ side for a $.40/gallon savings.
Enjoy...I'm tired of the Laughlin cops and decided to go on oneof the "Screw Laughlin" rides in SoCal.
If you don't have a room reserved yet, you can usually get a good room for about $90 a night in Lake Havasu City, AZ. which is about 75 miles South of Laughlin. Probably nothing else available any closer. The prices at Laughlin have gotten ridiculous! I have gone a number of times over the years and watched the prices go higher and higher. The room rates in Laughlin are typically around $30-$40 bucks a night. But during Laughlin they block the rooms off for a minimum 3 night stay at around $200 a night through the Laughlin River Run Promoters! I stopped going after my last trip cost me $100 a night. We riders have the ability to change the rip-offs we encounter but we don't join and boycott. Just 1 year of everyone staying away from Laughlin would cause major changes in the rates........
