wtf? my left bag on my 08 SG is rubbing on my side cover. I never moved them just took them off to install my mufflers. Should I move them back further or is the vibration from my exhaust making the bags move more and contact the side cover. Any help or suggestions? anybody ever have this problem? thanks Jason
One of my RK hard bags was rubbing on the side cover, adjusted the
mounts and that took care of the problem. I don't think the dealer
checked bag to side cover clearance when setting up the bike.
Checking saddlebag clearance is part of the PDI process. Sounds like your dealer missed it. If there is any damage to the paint, I would go to the dealer first and show him the problem/damage. Let him know you have not moved the mounts in anyway. Hopefully, they will take care of you (adjust the mounts and fix the paint). If there is no damage from rubbing then I would just fix it yourself. Just takes a 7/16" wrench and very little time.
Dealer should cover it under warranty if you just got it. I found my right side that way at 1000 miles and the dealer replaced the saddle bag and side cover. Said they should of found it when they assembled the bike.

Whenever you remove the bags, make sure they are back far enough not to rub when you re-attach them.
The upper mounting hardware that they attach to can be adjusted.
Make sure there is clearance between the front of the bag and the side cover.
If the quick release pins dont line up, adjust the mounting hardware.
Warranty Item?
I guess you can work it that way. Doubtful the dealer will buy it (I wouldnt). But hey, give it a try.
