SOME QUESTIONS
I hope to get some answers..
first, I installed a feuling oil pump and gear drive cam set up on my 04 EG... used 37g cams and it runs great.
but I do have ( used feuling lifters and adju, push rods) some louder lifter ticking,,,
is that normal....I figure it is.
I also ran it for a few munites with 5-20 oil to get oil to the top end,,,,I am sure I have oil to the rockers, as I have ridden it 200 miles and it sounds the same,, but is there a way to tell. I have no leaks to tattle on me..lol..
the bike runs super, has the best lope for a touring bike, sounds like a hot rod,, man it sounds super. Idles at 10000 rmp just fine and dandy, carries great oil pressure, lots better than stock.
just was wondering about the wee bit louder lifter noise...
the noise is usally louder when warn,,
I also added the Hd oil cooler, premuin package. with thermostat. Oil runs 190 about all the time. Used to get over 220 at times.
I like it.
I absolutely, at least for now, love the mods , cams, pump,,,man,,,,it sounds like a harley should. Oh, it has the big boom cans with no baffles...

This is common in most racing lifters. I recently installed a set of Jim's high performance lifters, and they clickclack like an old sewing machine. they are both hydraulic lifters for primarily racing applications. If you have a high lift cam, the tapping can be quite loud. Maybe that's why they call them tappets. I'm rebuildingmy motor from a 107 to a 124, and the first thing I'm going to toss are those damn $400 tappets. Screw Jims. Believe it or not, stock Harley tappets are damn dependable even in big engine apps. Good luck.
