Default head pipe glowing

I was at work last night and had the bike running waiting for the guys to get ready bike probaly sat for 3 mins running with out moving. I happen to look down and the head pipe on the rear cylendar was glowing red hot, it looked like the damn thing was going to turn into molten metal. That was the fist time i had ever noticed anything like that. Just wondering if it is normal or anyone else seen this???

Seems to be real common on the '07 and '08 bikes. The first time I ever saw it was on my buddy's '07.

Have you changes your air cleaner yet?

If so, and you're running without your PCIII, your bike is running very lean right now. This is one reason your pipe got so hot.

I've heard about guys that found pipes cracked from getting so hot.

100% stock = 100% hot

This is the main reason that I did a stage 1 upgrade. To beat the heat.

It's not only the 07 and 08. My 06 did it too until I did the stage one.
