I read the post about the other heat shields and need your opinion.

First, let me state that there is a pile of sh*t on a basement table because I wanted to save a few bucks, didn't like the quality, and ended up buying the expensive parts anyways. I have also bought a cheaper product, and was either quite happy with it or didn't like the whole idea and was glad I didn't spend the big bucks.

Back to the heat shields. I see the advantage and want them, but has anyone bought the Kury's only to throw them in a pile and buy the RJ's. Is it a personnal choice, like spending more for the Clearview when the Memphis works just fine?

For those riders that have purchased the RJS Originals V-twin Heat Deflectors, "No More Fried Thighs!!!" for their scoots, prior to the new 08's. Have asked if their Deflectors could be mounted on the new 08's. The answer is, yes they can! (2) 11/64ths spacers are required to be placed under the existing rear mounting bolts of the new 6 gallon gas tanks. This spacing will not change the look portrayed by the OEM. It only raises the catch that the seat needs to capture. Allowing the installation of our product and the reinsertion of seat to be a piece of cake.

RJ
That's good to know RJ. I got mine a couple weeks ago and it was a real bitch to get the seat back on my 08 Ultra. Managed to do it but was a struggle. Took a 4 hundred mile ride last weekend, some of it through a State Park where the speed limit was between 15 and 25mph. Some of it through towns where I always seem to hit every light red. Best accessory I've every bought!

I traded in an '07 Heritage that I had spent $1500+ for pipes, Stage 1 AC, Stage 1 Download and ultimately a SERT and a Dyno, only to find out that your shields on my '08 cut down on the heat I was feeling a lot more and a lot cheaper! Thanks.

YUP !
Wife has the Kury's and they are COMMING OFF as soon as RJ sends them (check was sent already).
It just started getting warm here in New England and she noticed how HOT her SG gets with the Kury's again.
I can tell the difference betwwen them and RJ's cus I got RJ's last year and "THERE IS" a difference.
I have to admit one thing tho .... Either HD or Kury has UPDATED their design since they 1st put them out.
Rob .....

Just installed them on my 08 Streetglide and had a couple of conversations with RJ's, may have precipitated the change, once you make that height mod it's a breeze, I can even switch between my seats (MCC modified originial and Danny Gray) without a problem. RJ's are fantastic to work with, a great product and much better than the HD or Kuryakyn solutions. Don't waste your money on them, go with his.

I get a lot of comments on them...people think they look great compared to the alternatives.

I really like them and I'm sure they are helping with the heat... though there are still times its just hot (100 degrees at a long light). I put them on before it got to hot out here though [&:]

Might have to put the spacers in...I find mine make the seat had to put on either the seat looks bunched or the heat shield.

I did find that due to the trapping of the heat in the rear of the engine my emmissions canister purge tube melted and landed on my rear exhaust. This would happen with any setup. Might want to check it now an again if you have CA emmissions. (the tube is $10)

I have a '08 FLHP (with the 103" engine and the inflatable seat) on order. Will the heat shields fit on the new scoot?
