I just received my Wild Pig slip on mufflers and installed them. Took my SG to my local HD dealer and asked if i needed to remap the the EFI or add a SERT and the guy told me that the slip-ons were pretty conservative being that the baffles are large and i have not changed out the filter assmebly to the stage 1 not to worry about a remap or a SERT if there were not going to be any more mods. If all i was looking for was louder exhaust and not performance to leave all alone unless there were some drivability issues.
What do you guys think? If all i have done is change out the mufflers and there are no issues? Do you leave it alone???
I ride with a few buddies that have ultra's and just added slipons. No download, SERt or PCIII. They are not having any problems. I think the dealer gave good advice and if your not having any problems you should be OK.
If you don't want to spend the money and are concerned, try the the TFI. It's much cheaper than the SERT and it should do exactly what you want. Balance the A/F mixture. It's a pretty cool setup and perfect for the guy who just wants to add exhaust and not go to a larger ci.
It'll probably be about a month before you decide to start upping the motor... Mine had 729 miles when the 95 kit went in... Sounds like you can at least wait until then. It's not like you can't tell when something needs to be done (as in the aforementioned popping, etc)... I think reading this forum causes some people to worry too much sometimes...
Well I just put my se slip ons today. And there is a lot of poping going on when I let off the throttle. So soon as the weather brakes. I am to head over to the dyno tuner with my se air filter and sert. And get the bike dialed in. Bob.
Hey U guys, U can always pull a spark plug and check the color. It will tell U if it is too lean or too rich.I put slip-ons on my EG and am getting more of a bubbling sound than popping on decell.Checked the plugs and they look great--lite tan color.Hope this helps.OD
