How do the Harley Davidson saddle(heat)shields fasten on? Thanks! Steve
Between the frame and the engine.
No seat distortion.
There are two holes under the frame on each side.
They supply you with Nut-Serts to make them threaded holes.
You install nuts and washers into shield and then into frame.
Tighten to taste and ride.
I have them on my 05 UC and love them. You can really tell
the difference. Wife thinks it's the best investment I've made
on the bike.
I liked the HD black ones best. They match my bike's color
scheme best. They look solid. I think the clear or smoke ones
from Kuryakyn look flimsy. No Offense, that's just my opinion.
Ride safe,
Dano
I put the harley brand shields on my 07flhtcu they are plastic chrome finished like sunglasses they work well I have read about a heat shield "blanket" that fits over the rear cyilinder in a bike magazine that is suppose to be great. any one heard of it? any way here in georgia i is so hot I always look for any way to "cool" my ride
