Default It has begun....

I got everything in and started the installation of my stereo today. The following are a list of what I am installing

Alpine iDA-X001 Deck
PAC - SWIJACK
Hawg Wired - DCS Series 120W (2x60) Amplifier
Hawg Wired - SX504-60 speakers (4 ohm)
Hawg Wired - DIN Radio Bezel
Hawg Wired - DIN Radio Cradle
Aiptek - A-HD (HD Digital Camcorder)
Magellan RoadMate 860T

and a whole slew of RAM Mounts

So far I have the Amp and Speakers installed and have pulled the factory deck out and installed the Alpine deck I have started the wiring and am about half done now.

Hereare some picks of the progress so far. I have about 10 or so wires and resistors to solider yet before I am done with the PAC unit then I can wire the Alpine deck and test it. Once that is done I can button back up the fairing and take it for a road test. Hopefully I will be done tomorrow night.

I will write a complete review and my thoughts once I am complete, but after I got the amp installed and speakers replaced I did test everything out before removing the stock stereo and I have to say what a difference. I heard PhilM's system on his bike and was impressed, but when I turned mine on for the first time to test it out I was giggling like a little school girl out in the garage.

More to come tomorrow....

Jeff

Great to hear you love the Hawg Wired Amp and Speakers. I installed mine the other day and you are right WOW what a difference! [sm=wootwoot.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

Jeff, outstanding project; looking forward to the write-up; the system should be grreeaat.

And unique since you're using the PAC for the handlebar controls.

Looks Great! I love my HW speakers in the fairing, and my Kappa 6x9's in the bags. Good luck! It should sound excellent! I wonder If I should go with an aftermarket deck?

Hardav23,
I am going to use a RAM mount and mount the camera on the left side of the bars just behind the windscreen with the lens poking just above it.

These Aiptek camcorders a sub 200 bucks and record to SD Cards so no moving parts.I was turned on to them by someone in the videos section of this forum it takespretty good video for theprice, and I figure if something happens to it I am not out much.

I thought about moving it down to the lower legs, but the screen has to be open in order for it to record so I decided to keep it up on the bars behind the screen.
