Wally's lists the following for gages:

p/n [os] 21-GK61537B
Oil Temp Gauge replaces Ambient Air Temp Gauge - Fits 99-Later, FLHT-FLTR w/ fairing mounted gauges - Black Face / Black Bezel
$89.95

p/n [os] 21-GK61537S
Oil Temp Gauge replaces Ambient Air Temp Gauge - For 2000 FLTRSEI Screamin Eagle - ONLY - Silver Face / Black Bezel
$89.95

p/n [os] 21-GK61537C
Oil Temp Gauge replaces Ambient Air Temp Gauge - For 2001-2004 FLTRSEI Screamin Eagle - Silver Face / Chrome Bezel
$89.95

p/n [os] 21-GK61537A
Oil Temp Gauge replaces Ambient Air Temp Gauge -Aluminum Face
$89.95

I'm still a little confused. The picture you showed of yours which is the spun aluminum matches the screaming eagle gauges. So which of the bottom three do you have?

I have a Street Glide which has the silver gauges, so which one of these would match my gauges?

Also where do you mount he sending unit?

I'd have to say if you have the silver face gauge then thats the one to order. I think it may be a mis-print that the silver face gauge is for the SE. I have the aluminum face that IS the SE style. I don't know...Maybe the silver face came on pre 04 SE? Might try calling them to be sure you get the right one.
The sending unit installs in the pan next to the drain plug. Just do it cold and make sure you haven't pulled the dip stick out. Be quick (read "be ready") and you can swap out the sender without loosing much oil at all.

Default RE: faring oil temp gauge

Recently I installed the Wally gauge and it took all of 30 minutes (could've done it in 20 but I had to keep relighting my cigar).

Remove the top 3 windscreen screws and remove the windscreen

Remove the four outer fairing screws (2 are below the speakers, 2 are low and inboard by where the fork tubes are)

Unplug headlamp and remove fairing

I removed my fuel gauge to provide easier access to the temp gauge spot

I also made short (about 8") jumpers with blade connectors on one end and terminals on the other so that I could use the Wally gauge without cutting the factory connector off

Note: Before you install the Wally gauge, switch the light out of your Air Temp gauge. HD puts an amber cover on the bulb so if you switch them, all the gauges will light up the same.

I pulled the plug in the oil pan with the engine cold and with the temp sender at the ready so that I could immediately start screwing it in - only lost a few ounces of oil.

Run the sensor wire up alongside the clutch cable.

Finish hooking up your wires, put the gauges in without over tightening, install the fairing without over tightening and you're good to go.

Remember - you'll be monitoring the temp of the oil in the tank so it'll take awhile until until you start geting a reading (unlike a sensor that was mounted directly to the engine itself) - CWO

I replaced my gauge set on my '03 Ultra with the Silver face gauges that look like this,

If this is what you have on your bike than you will want the;

p/n [os] 21-GK61537C
Oil Temp Gauge replaces Ambient Air Temp Gauge - For 2001-2004 FLTRSEI Screamin Eagle - Silver Face / Chrome Bezel
$89.95

it will still accept the chrome trim ring if desired.

The sending unit goes under the motor, the instructions are very clear.

hope I helped.

I did the install on my Ultra, looks great and is more functional the the air guage/ install was pretty to the point, just have to deal with the oil plug, I opted to hook it up during a oil change

Hey 05 Ultra, would you happen to have the part # to the aluminum guage? I noticed Wally's has added an aluminum guage to there web sight but don't show a picture of it. Just wanted to make sure before i ordered it..
Thanks

Make sure you order the right one. I ordered two from Wallys thinking one of them was for an 05 screaming eagle bike. The ad said it was, but when I got it it did not come close to matching the 05 gauges. Needless to say i got on the phone and talked to them about it. They were not willing to give a refund so i wound up doing an exchange for another black face one and then sold it to get my money back. We had quite an argument and they admitted there web site was wrong and they changed it while we were on the phone but I still got screwed. I ordered one straight from Rodger McEwan himself. I spoke with him on the phone and he sent me one that matched the SE gauges. I will not buy anything else from Wallys. I even had to pay for shipping the wrong one back plus shipping to get the one in its place sent to me.

Let the buyer beware!
Sorry to hear you had a hard time with Wally World. And glad Rodger was able to hook you up!
You should have told them (Wallys') how many people belong to this forum.

I did tell them about the forum. I informed them that was where i had heard of them as well. That did not seem to matter to them. It was like oh well to bad. I will not purchase anything else from the, I do know that for a fact.

Question for you guys that have already installed:

My SG is on order, due at the end of March, and I'm trying to get some stuff together to be installed when it comes in. That way it'll be ready to go when I come home for my 2 week vacation trip! So, I had somebody back home call the HD dealer that's receiving the bike to check on some stuff. They said don't install an oil temp gauge in the fairing, it'll jump around and drive you crazy. They suggested to get the dipstick with a gauge on it...(the MoCo's gauge, of course). So, the question: Have you guys had any problems with your gauges in the air temp slot? Any jumping or such? I noted that the magnet affected the gauge in the VM spot...

Thanks, all. Never realized it could be so much trouble to arrange to have stuff done when I'm not there. Would much rather do this stuff all me-own-self, but...

Enjoy the ride.
