Default Monkeybutt and Passenger backrest issues

I purchased a 2007 FLTRI last July. I love the bike except for the saddle, which I will soon replace, and the fact that when I ride with my wife she and I are only able to ride about 25 miles before having to stop and stretch. The "quick detatch" upright (52933-97B) and touring pad push her about 2 inches forward on the saddle, which pushes me forward out of the comfort zone of an already not-too-comfortable saddle.
I spoke with the local dealer, and to the Motor Company asking about an "adjustable" upright. Harley does not make one and had no suggestions. I looked at the setup on the bike, thinking I could rework the brackets or something, but this looks too impossible. I checked out Mustang's recessed pad, but that's for the older style uprights.
Does anbody reading have a similar problem, or am I the only one? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could try bending the upright back come. Of course, this might make the chrome flake off, thus forcing you to have it rechromed. As for the monkey butt, try an el-cheapo bath mat, the kind you put in front of the sink. You'll be suprized how much better it will feel. I used a cheap rubber backed one, keeps it from sliding around on the seat. It allows just enough air to keep you somewhat dry so you don't "baste the boys".

I have a corbin dual tour that moved my passenger and I back 1 1/2 inches. They have a adjustable back rest on the riders and passenger seat. There a very hard seat like a saddle but are very good for long distance riding.
