In a nutshell, I was installing something on my 07 RK today. I loosened up the gas tank, so I could run a couple wires under the tank through the plastic harness holder.
I heard a snap, and saw gas pouring out on the floor. There is a 90 degree under the tank, that connects to a hose. Then the hose connects to s nipple (broken off in the hose) and a plastic piece that connects to as metal tube on the engine.
ANybody know what this piece is called so I can get another? I can't find an actual name or part number online or in the service manual?
If you can snap a clear picture, I could try to look it up in my 08 touring service manual, and see if I can get you the PN for it. The only problem is that with the change from 5 gallon to 6 gallon for the 08 MY there may be differences to the plumbing under the tank.
I did the same thing last week, Matched the fitting up at NAPA. the release is a different style, but it works fine.300 miles and no problems. I also replaced the spring style hose clamps with worm gear fuel injection clamps.Hope this helps.
The picture you show from the SM is the attachment of the "fuel supply line" to the induction module's fuel supply tube. My '04 parts book doesn't give a seperate PN foryour broken fitting, just the "fuel line assembly," PN 61340-02A, to which it is attached. You have an '07 so the parts and PN's may be different, but the pics from your SM are the same as in my '04 SM.
PM Dawg, or perhaps someone with the '07 parts book will chime in.
