If your talking about the SG then remove the lens and you'll see a larger phillips head screw in the middle near the top. Remove it then lift the assembly towards the seat a little and it will come off the fender. You'll need to unplug the light from the assembly first.
And you haven't been pulled over yet? They aren't blue which is illegal in all 50 states, but they aren't red either and most all states have laws saying you can only have red on the back of any vehicle.
That being said they sure do catch your attention! Out here in California the police scoots all have blue leds on the back that are illuminated all the time. They really make them visible!

My buddy has blue on back of his standard. I got as I said the UV prople. Got over 10,000 miles on the 08 Standard and been drunk as a skunk and rode threw about every town within 200 miles. The Police have not ever bothered me. My buddy has had the lights on the back of his bike even longer and nobody had bothered him either.
If the Police want to do something they need to protect bikers from the cages, not the other way around.
Got my lights on for visibility. Everytime I turn around somebody on a bike has been rear ended by a car and they are in the hospital.
So I'd rather be seen than to be rear ended.

Yeah probably not the smartest thing in the world to do...Riding drunk in the first place and second riding when you have given any officer the green light to stop you with the LEDs on the back of the bike. That is their Probable Cause to stop you- even if you're riding fine. Then you go to jail for DUI.
Hey I like the lights for the added visibility- and would consider them too! Just wouldn't ride drunk with them!
Hmmm been riding since 64, turned 21 in 71, never been stopped for drinkin and riding in my life.
Guess nobody should ride a bike and stop for a few beers either. But it would take all the fun out of ridin too.
