Default Advise needed please

In the beginning of June I am taking a weekend ride. Fri, Sat and Sun. Plan on doing about 1,000 + miles.

The problem is my bike only has 350 miles on it and I dont think I can get up to the thousand for the first service. So the question is do I do the service prior to hitting 1k miles? Whats the minimum for the 1k service? Or, do I go on the trip and do the service after the trip with 1300-1500 miles on the bike?

Thanks in advance for the advise!

Eddie

Can you put another 5 or 600 miles on her before you go? You have another month.

If not, enjoy the ride and finish breaking in the bike. The oil will be OK, just go through your pre-ride checks while on the road. The 1000 mile service will wait til you get back.

Be sure to take your manual with you in case of an issue so you can find a dealer nearby for any warranty problems you may have on the road.

Cheers

My HD shop says anything over 800 and you can get the 1k service done. If you can get close to that I would recommend the service before the trip so they can check out everything else including the clutch cable and brakes. If you can't I would at least do an oil change myself before the trip, then take it in for the full 1k service after you get back.

I can probably get another 400-500. Time is limited. I took it easy for the first 200 miles or so and have been riding it as normal for the last 150 or so. I am concerned about the things loosening thing the dealer warned me about within the first 1k miles. Would hate for a wheel to fall off. I am having my indy shop do the 1k service so getting it in that last week will be no problem.

if I could ride every day I could do it. Commuting to work is impossible as I am a suit. Weather is iffy this month. If I try I am sure I can just wanted to getsome advise in case I cant. II am leaving June 6 so I have to get the bike in that week. 5 weekends I should be able to get there.
