yup i used iton my fairing..wish i didnt..soaked the fairing with a wet towel first to get most the bug guts off ..then applied turtle wax brand bug remover to get the rest..(good for everything the bottle says)then a good polish....now when i look at it straight on, from about 5 feet away,i can see every where i rubbed with the bug remover. the polish i used is a brand name spray on and wipe off......any ideas on what to do ? maybe a paste wax? ohhh its vivid black
Try S100 pre wax shine enhancer, and then a good paste wax. Use a flannel cloth to wipe off both products. Make sure the cloth isn't brand new, and has been washed a couple of times. If that doesn't work, try a very mild polishing compound, then reapply the other two in the same way. The next time you have a bunch of bugs, try using a block of painters correction clay (overspray clay). You can get it at NAPA, or your local automotive paint supply store. Be sure to use plenty of the spray lube when using it, and fold it into itself often. If it hits the ground, throw it away.
i've had great results with hydrogen peroxide to get the bugs off (thanks texas redneck). This weekend I washed my vivid black ultra with dawn dishwashing liquid then used maguires clay bar kit. cleaned it like new. then a coat of maguires liquid gold wax and she shines like wet paint and looks like glass. could not be any happier (or cleaner).
WARNING!!!!!!!!!!
Do not use The TW bug remover. That stuff will ruin any wax, polish, etc you do to that area.
Wash area w/ Dawn soap, dry, and re-wax. Before you do anything else wash off the residue.
Follow the recommended methods to remove bug juice.
That stuff is messy and only removes the loose stuff.
As a test put soapy water in a bucket, spray some of that stuff in it and watch the bubble disapear!
Use 50-50 hydrogen peroxide and water! Put it in a spray bottle and the bugs actually melt off in a few seconds and it doesn't appear to affect the polish. Nothing works better....
