I took my bike on an extended ride Saturday-about 200 miles round trip-much of it on interstate at 70-80 mph.
I noticed on the way home that I was missing down shifts eg: 4th to 2nd.
I got home OK , parked the bike for a coulpe of days due to bad weather. I took it to work today and noticed a deccided difference in the shifting.
shifts were tight and solid instead of loose and clunking like it did before the trip. THAT is OK with me. It kinda felt good (Sort of like my old Yamaha cruiser used to shift).
The issue is, when I downshifted I heard/felt this low sound vibration/shuddering in the gear box. No problems getting it in gear, just this feeling/sound with the down shifts.
I haven't had my 1000 service yet so I wonder if is just in need of adjustment or maybe I need to top off the tranny oil. This thing makes me nervous and I wonder if it would be OK to ride it to my dealer 80 miles away.
Any thoughts would be very welcome.
