I just installed some new Rinehart Slip on Mufflers on my 07 FLHTC, they sound great. I was wondering if Vance & Hine Dresser Dual header pipes will give me better performance and a better sound (louder) out of my Rinehart Mufflers? Are they easy to install?
He can't go with the Rinehart True Dual head pipes because he already purchased and installed the Rinehart slipons that fit the standard head pipes. To answer your question, if you like the look and sound of true duals, the Vance & Hines head pipes are an excellent choice. I have got them on my bike. Also, going with this set up, you will be able to change out the mufflers to any other brand down the road. I personally like the sound of the True duals much better than the stock configuration. True Dual head pipes do not give you better performance, in fact, they may hurt your performance a little, but I doubt you will notice any seat of the pants difference.
I have the true duals on my bike and it did make a difference sound wise. The sound is much more even and a tad bit louder with the duals. It also cleaned up the right side of the bike which is nice as well.

No, on the better performance you will loose a small amount on the low end.
Yes, on the better sound. It is a little louder and you get 50/50 out the back, rather than 85/15.
Without that right hand rear cylinder pipe, it looks better and runs cooler, especially on the right leg.
Easy to install...It took me one beer to pull the HD stock pipes and three beers to put on the V&H true duals.
I like 'em they are aquality productand I'd do it again!!!
I just replaced my stock header pipes & rush slip ons last weekend with v&h true duals & thunderheader slip ons. They sound sweet!!! The bike is an 07 sg.
Love my true dual Rinehart setup....great sound and it improved performance with the SERT and breather addition. Gained 17HP and 19FtLbs over the stock setup.
I really like the way my v&h true duals look, sound and help to make my bike run cooler. I am still pulling 102 tq, soI don't worry about the slight low end decrease it is probably costing me.
Great fit and finish. Possibly a bit of a low end tq loss but if you are running a fuel management system, the change in map will help this. Sound wise, you get a big bonus. Not lots louderat idle but a nice throaty sound under load.
