Anybody else have the SE 6 speed with 95ci big bore setup? I was wondering on your speed in high gears. I have to be to almost 70 before I hit 6th gear. Anything below and I am lugging the motor. Not that being above 70 bothers me.
I went for the whole SE Stage Three but just the SE-211 cams. I got the HTCC heads, intake and pistons. Running 10.5:1 so I had to get the comp release. Pain to remember to push them when I first got it done. Starter really moans if comp releases are closed. Power commander. Tried a set of used Rhineharts but got more HP from SE Slip ons. So I stayed with them. Picture in my sig is before kit and gears. I need to take a new one. Bike has been on dyno several times to get the custom map just right. Not sure of all the Mechanic did tweaking the bike (he is a good friend) but he told me that a few more ponies are in it but I wanted to keep it rideable.
One of my riding buddies has the same 95 with 6 speed on his Ultra. He says it takes about 75 to not lug the motor. So this is obviously pretty common. It's on my wishlist for my Ultra too.
Thanks for the info. I guess that .89 to 1 final drive really drops the rpm out of the power band. I usually run about 80 and motor is in its zone. I even get 40mpg if I play nice. Oh and to all. I put the new picture in my sig. 6 speed cover sure is shiny and really stands out different than stock.

Thanks
Thinking of going with a custom bump stick that Branch has to offer, along with their port work. I hope to be close to the 100/100 nark with my 95
Thanks for the input from all. I have been experimenting some with the new tranny. For normal short runs I almost never hit 6th. Once on the freeway or open road this baby hums at 75-85 all day and I get great gas mileage. At that speed the motor is in the groove. Best mod I ever went with. Little expensive but worth every $$$$$$.
My curiousity has kicked in:
what are your RPM's @ 80m/h in 6th gear?
What are the RPM,s @80 m/h in 5th gear on a 5 speed tranny?I would know but I dont have a tac on my road king although I hear the motor screaming so I sometimes forget Im in 5th gear and try to shift up 1 more gear(thinking dam I wish I had a 6 speed)
Not sure on rpms as I don't have a tach. The 6th gear is ovedrive .89 to 1. So I would guess a 400 rpm drop at 70 in 6th vice 5th? Any of you motorheads know the real numbers? I just ride, I don't wrench except simple stuff.
