I got one of those digital dakota antennas for my 08 Flhx and i am trying to find what wire off the radio to tap into for power does anyone here know what color to look for and also the best place to mount the antenna

On top of the radio with the wire's stretched along the top with as much area as they can cover. Don't bind up the wires it will lower the reception...been there.

 

I agree, the wires act as much as an antenna as the antenna module does itself.

 

I just tapped into the lighter power. Works fine for me.

 

On my RG I used the unused wire for the front fender light. It was right there in the harness behind the headlights.
