Going into Canada is no problem. If you would like to return...get a passport. Also, if you don't want to visit your bike while in Canada bring an addendum to your US Insurance that indicates that it is good in Canada (Progressive & Allstate provide it for no additional charge). Canada can (and will) impound any vehicle they think is not covered in their country. [:@]

Rooseville is a 24 hr crossing. Terrain is a lot like Ossooyoos. Eureka Montana.

I like to cross at Creston/Port Hill? Creston is only 3k from the border.

Yes, US Customs are stricter than Canadian.

As of 1 Jan 08, you need two forms of ID (Driver's license and birth cert are the two main) to get back into the US.

However, I just went a couple of times and I was able to get back to the US with only a driver's license. Depends on the border official.

You can't go wrong with a passport and it will be required next year anyway.

Also, at least in Quebec, the roads up there are far worse than ours, so watch out!!

Has anyone noticed , US customs asks for pasports and papers from American Citizens who speek perfect American English to cross our borders coming home BUT, When the Cockroaches run across the Sothern borders, they are never challanged or Exterminated as all pests should be. imo.

Major Bill is right about the roads. Most of 'em are pretty bad in Quebec...and in northern Ontario.
Another heads up- it's always a great idea to be respectful with police...but, step it up if yer in Quebec.
I speak french, and it's helped me many times...I swear, they keepan eye peeled for out of province plates.
This might sound silly, just tryin' to help though...use any french that you can muster, 'bonjour, merci, oui, non...'
A little effort goes a long way...and before you know it, they'll be speaking english.
Oh, one more thing (I learned the hard way)...no right turns at a red light in Quebec. Really.

Right turns on a red light are permitted in the province of Quebec except on the island of Montreal and at intersections that have 'no turn on red' signs...
