Start the planning process of a new bike. I ride an 07 FXD. My plan is to trade in when it hits around 45K. I now have 33k on it. Love it. The woman in my life wants to ride, but not on long trips. I like the twistys and do scrape the pegs. Not sport bike style, but still love the twistys. I am a 50yr old kid.
I want to get her to go on longer rides, 200+ miles so hence the bagger. I have heard some issues on the handling of baggers. I know there are some fixes for the wiggle, but....
I know I can get a good seat for the Dyna and make her pretty comfortable.
So my choices are another Dyna or a Road Glide.
Do the roadglide you will be glad you did, the baggers handle good and if the high speed sweaping turns are a problem like you said many aftermarket solutions to choose from. If you want to do alot of miles the touring frames are the only way to go in my opinion.
buy a bagger you wont be sorry. as far as the wiggle goes i love curves myself and love for the wife to ride and we like trips... so a bagger was obvious but i had the wobble problem and it got fixed by buying a stabilizer link i have a TWR missing link and love the quality of it and it made noticable improvement on my bike... but i push my bike hard
I went from sport bikes to the bagger and tell ya what, I get just as much adrenaline and fun in twisties with this as I did with those. My heart does a little skip when throw the thing into a turn and the floor board comes twice as fast as I thought!
